Kaylee had her first pediatrician appointment today and received good marks all around. She is gaining weight very well and is very healthy. Poor little thing had to get her 2nd PKU test today. She managed to sleep through the first one (and so did Lance for that matter!). But she was awake and hungry this time! They let us feed her while getting the test done so she didn't really cry, which I hope to make my new strategy for vaccinations.
Kaylee also attended her first birthday party on Sunday. Our friend's little boy turned one so Kaylee was there to celebrate. Well, more like sleep through the celebrating. But she was there in spirit. It was nice to have a reason to shower, put on makeup and wear something other than sweats. Otherwise the days and nights all meld into one. We really have no concept of time right now!
We've been managing sleep fairly well. Kaylee has a "special" time of night that I like to refer to as the Witching Hour when our seemingly sweet well behaved baby turns into a screaming angry changeling. This is usually from 2am to 4am. Lucky us! But Lance is amazing with her and usually takes on the little monster while letting me sleep. Lance has been an amazing dad all around. He is incredibly hands on and always there to help or step in. Which is I appreciate more than anything. Nursing has been going really well, but it is nice to have someone there to help. And Lance looks so cute when he shows her off. He is one proud papa!
